The Liyab draws its form from the drama of lava spilling from a volcano—unpredictable, powerful, and full of energy. We used lampakanay, a natural fiber usually seen in rustic textures, but here it is transformed into something bold and sculptural. Even more, we introduced a coloring technique that allows lampakanay to hold deep, fiery hues, something rarely seen before. The Liyab demonstrates how Calfurn can take a humble material and push it into new, surprising directions—turning raw fiber into art.
